What we see on High Point roofs

3-tab shingles. We see lots of them here. They’re builder-grade, entry-level shingles, and they aren’t built for high winds. We don’t install 3-tab at all anymore.

Improper installs. We find far too many roofs that were put on wrong. One of the most common mistakes is racking the shingles instead of stair-stepping them, and it leads to leaks. Here’s how that happens: Racking vs. Stair-Step Shingle Installation.

Older roofs. A lot of High Point roofs are simply getting old. Age alone doesn’t decide whether you need a new roof, though. We’ve seen 25-year-old roofs that look new and 3-year-old roofs that look 20. Not sure if yours can be repaired? See Repair or Replace? / Storm Damage Signs.

Featured High Point job: Futrelle Drive

This one started as a leak call on Futrelle Drive in April 2026. The homeowner chose a full roof replacement and financed the whole job through Improvifi at a low monthly payment.

What we installed: GAF Timberline Natural Shadow shingles in Charcoal, installed as a complete GAF roofing system so the homeowner qualified for the GAF System Plus warranty.

How a High Point roof replacement works

  1. Free inspection and estimate. We measure most roofs on site. For complex roofs we order satellite measurements. Most estimates are given at the first visit; a complex roof may need a follow-up visit.
  2. You pick an option. Basic, Standard or Premium (see prices below).
  3. Tear-off. We strip the old roof down to the decking. If we find rotten decking, the first two sheets of 7/16 OSB are replaced free, and $50 per sheet after that.
  4. Installation. Synthetic felt, starter shingles, ridge vent and real ridge caps (never cut-up 3-tabs). Standard and Premium add ice and water shield in all valleys and around penetrations, plus drip edge. Every shingle goes on in the stair-step method manufacturers call for.
  5. Cleanup. We haul off the old shingles and all job-site waste. A crew does about 25 to 30 squares a day, so most simple roofs are finished in one day. Rain can push a start date back, and storms sometimes come out of nowhere, which is why every truck carries tarps.

What a new roof costs in High Point

Every roof is different, so the price varies by roof. For a typical 2,000 sq ft house:

  • Basic: about $8,500 to $10,500
  • Standard: about $10,000 to $13,000
  • Premium: about $12,000 to $16,000

All prices include tear-off, disposal, synthetic felt and starter. Steep pitch, extra layers, dormers and valleys add to the cost. The full breakdown is in our Roof Replacement Cost in the Triad guide, and financing is available.

Storm damage on your High Point roof

Please don’t climb on your roof after a storm. From the ground, look for dents on downspouts and other soft metals, shredded plants and bushes, and hail marks on wood decks, windows and trim. Wind damage shows up as creased or missing shingles. Shingles that blew up and laid back down have broken their factory seal and may never seal right again.

When we come out, we start at the perimeter, check the attic, walk the roof when it’s safe, and take drone photos of every slope. We document the damage with photos and explain the insurance process. You work with your own insurance company on your claim.

Roof warranties

Every Statewide roof comes with a workmanship warranty: 5 years standard, 10 years with GAF Silver Pledge, and 25 years with GAF Golden Pledge. Golden Pledge is only available through a GAF Master Elite contractor and requires five qualifying GAF accessories. Our Futrelle Drive homeowner chose the GAF System Plus warranty.
