What Is a Hail & Storm Damage Roof Inspection?
A hail and storm damage roof inspection is a step-by-step check of your property after severe weather. We look at the gutters, downspouts, window trim and soft metals, check the attic decking, walk the roof when it’s safe, fly a drone for an overhead view and photograph everything we find. The inspection is free, with an optional paid written report that’s credited toward your work.
How Our Hail & Storm Damage Roof Inspection Works
After hail or a major windstorm, roof damage isn’t always visible from the ground. Our inspections follow the same documented process every time, so you get a clear picture of what happened to your roof and what it needs.
1. Perimeter check of the property
We start on the ground, walking the full perimeter. Gutters, downspouts, window trim and other soft metals dent easily in hail, so they’re one of the first places we look for impact marks and the size and direction of the storm.
2. Attic and roof decking check
When we can get into the attic, we check the underside of the roof decking for water stains, daylight, moisture and other signs that the storm let water in.
3. Walking the roof when it’s safe
If the pitch, height and conditions allow it, we walk the roof and check shingles or metal panels, flashing, vents, pipe boots and ridge caps up close for hail bruising, cracked or missing shingles, granule loss and wind lifting.
4. Drone overview
We fly a drone to get a full overhead view of the roof. That lets us see steep slopes and areas that aren’t safe to walk, and it gives you an aerial record of the roof’s condition.
5. Consistent photo documentation
We photograph what we find the same way on every job, from the soft metals on the ground to close-ups on the roof, so you can see exactly what we saw.
