Large neighborhood or small, we’ll help

Winston-Salem roofing services
- Roof replacement. Complete tear-off and a full GAF roofing system. Simple roofs are usually done in a day.
- Roof repair. We repair when a repair is truly needed and possible, like a pipe boot that can take a cover instead of new shingles. We won’t keep patching a roof that was installed wrong.
- Flat roof and TPO roofing. GAF TPO membranes over new insulation board, with new drains and vent caps, for churches and commercial buildings.
- Storm and hail damage. We document the damage with photos and explain the insurance process. Start with our storm damage signs.
- Roof inspections, free, with drone photos of every slope.
- 24/7 emergency roof repair. Our trucks always carry tarps.
- Shingle roofing from GAF architectural to designer shingles. No 3-tab, ever.
- Metal roofing, including standing seam.
- Custom gutters. We make them in-house, custom-fit to each Winston-Salem home.
- Roof financing with low monthly payments.
Common Winston-Salem roof problems
Lots of 3-tab. Many homes here were built with 3-tab shingles, the entry-level, builder-grade option. They don’t hold up well in high winds, which is why we no longer install 3-tab on any job.
Bad installs. There are far too many improperly installed roofs out there. When shingles are racked instead of stair-stepped, water collects in the joints and small leaks turn into big ones. We explain it in Racking vs. Stair-Step Shingle Installation.
Roofs past their prime. We also see a lot of older roofs in Winston-Salem. But a roof’s age doesn’t tell the whole story; condition does. If you’re weighing a repair against a full replacement, start with Repair or Replace? / Storm Damage Signs.
Ponding on flat roofs. Standing water on an old flat roof, like the church roof below, wears out the membrane and finds its way in around penetrations.
Featured Winston-Salem job: a local church on Longview Drive
This one was for a local church on Longview Drive, and it’s one of our favorite jobs. We always love helping out churches in our communities. It started as a leak call: the old black membrane on the flat roof was holding standing water.
We documented the damage with photos and explained to the church how the insurance process works. They worked directly with their own insurance company on the claim. They were very grateful, and they told us they wouldn’t know what they’d do without us.
What we installed: a new GAF TPO membrane, 60 mil thick, over new 2-inch ISO insulation board. We also put in new drains and, most importantly, new vent caps to keep water from seeping in around the penetrations.

Nearby, we also did a GAF Woodland designer roof in Lewisville. See that project.
How we replace a shingle roof in Winston-Salem
- Free inspection and estimate. We measure on site, or order satellite measurements for complex roofs. Most estimates come at the first visit.
- Pick your option: Basic, Standard or Premium.
- Tear-off. Down to the decking. Two sheets of rotten 7/16 OSB are replaced free on every job; extra sheets are $50 each.
- Install. Synthetic felt, starter, ridge vent and real ridge caps. Standard and Premium add ice and water shield in valleys and around penetrations, plus drip edge; Premium adds lifetime pipe boots and ice and water along dormers and walls with step flashing. Every course is stair-stepped.
- Cleanup. We take away the old shingles and job-site waste. At 25 to 30 squares a day, a simple roof is usually finished in one day. Wet weather can delay a start, and every truck carries tarps.
Roof replacement cost in Winston-Salem
No two roofs are priced the same; your price varies by roof. For a 2,000 sq ft house:
- Basic: about $8,500 to $10,500
- Standard: about $10,000 to $13,000
- Premium: about $12,000 to $16,000
Every option includes tear-off, disposal, synthetic felt and starter. Our Triad cost guide breaks down what drives the price, and financing is available.
Storm damage in Winston-Salem
Don’t go up on the roof yourself. From the ground, check for dents in downspouts and other soft metal, shredded plants, and hail marks on wood decks, windows and trim. Look for creased or missing shingles after high winds. A shingle that blew up and laid back down has broken its seal and may never seal right again.
We start every storm assessment at the perimeter, check the attic, get on the roof when it’s walkable, and take drone photos of all slopes. We document the damage and explain how the insurance process works; you work with your own insurance company on your claim.
Workmanship warranties
We offer warranty options up to 25 years, depending on the roofing system.
Part of the neighborhood
We put on cookouts and the whole neighborhood is welcome. And now and then, our team walks the neighborhood door to door, just to introduce ourselves.
