Our Greensboro roofing services

Roof problems we find in Greensboro

  • Builder-grade 3-tab shingles. A lot of Greensboro homes still have them. 3-tab is an entry-level shingle that isn’t made to stand up to high winds, and we’ve stopped installing it completely.
  • Roofs that were installed wrong. We run into improper installs far too often. A racked roof is a good example: the shingles weren’t stair-stepped the way manufacturers require, and water works its way into the joints. Read why racking causes leaks.
  • Aging roofs. Many roofs here are older and near the end of their life. Still, age by itself doesn’t settle it. We look for premature wear, storm damage and bad installation. Our repair-or-replace guide covers how we decide.

Featured Greensboro job: West Vandalia Road

The homeowners on West Vandalia Road called us about a leak, and it ended in a full roof replacement on their brick ranch.

We documented the damage with photos and explained the insurance process to the homeowners along the way. They worked with their own insurance company on the claim. Afterward, they told us how grateful they were for the help, and said they wouldn’t know what they’d do without us.

What we installed: GAF Timberline HDZ shingles in Charcoal. The homeowner chose the GAF Golden Pledge warranty, GAF’s top-tier coverage, which includes 25 years of workmanship protection.

Greensboro roof replacement, step by step

  1. We look first. Free inspection. Most roofs are measured on site; complex roofs get ordered satellite measurements. You’ll usually have your estimate at the first visit.
  2. Choose Basic, Standard or Premium.
  3. Tear-off to the decking. Rotten decking gets replaced: two sheets of 7/16 OSB free on every job, then $50 a sheet.
  4. The new system. Synthetic felt, starter shingles, ridge vent and real ridge caps. Standard and Premium add ice and water shield in every valley and around penetrations, plus drip edge, and Premium adds lifetime pipe boots. Shingles go on stair-stepped, never racked.
  5. Cleanup and done. Old shingles and job-site waste are hauled away. Our crews do about 25 to 30 squares a day; rainy weeks can push the schedule.

Greensboro roof prices

Prices depend on your roof, so they vary from house to house. On a 2,000 sq ft home, we give three options:

  • Basic: about $8,500 to $10,500
  • Standard: about $10,000 to $13,000
  • Premium: about $12,000 to $16,000

Tear-off, disposal, synthetic felt and starter are included in every option. See what’s in each one, and what makes a roof cost more, in our Triad roof cost guide.

Hail and wind damage in Greensboro

Stay off the roof after a storm and check from the ground instead: dented downspouts and gutters, shredded bushes, and hail marks on wood decks, windows and trim. Creased or missing shingles point to wind damage, and a shingle that lifted and laid back down has lost its seal.

Our storm assessment follows the same routine every time: perimeter first, then the attic, then on the roof when it’s walkable, with drone photos of all slopes. We document the damage and explain the insurance process; you work with your own insurance company on the claim.

Warranties on Greensboro roofs

Our workmanship warranties run up to 25 years: 5 years standard, 10 years with GAF Silver Pledge, and 25 years with GAF Golden Pledge, like the West Vandalia Road roof. Golden Pledge requires a GAF Master Elite contractor and five qualifying GAF accessories.

Neighbors first

When we work in a Greensboro neighborhood, we like to throw a cookout and invite everyone on the street. Every so often, our crew also knocks on doors to say hello and introduce ourselves.

Frequently Asked Questions

What number do I call for a roofer in Greensboro?

336-936-5245, our High Point office. We’re open 24/7.

How many Greensboro roofs have you done?

Well over 1,000.

How much is a new roof in Greensboro?

On a 2,000 sq ft home, about $8,500 to $10,500 for Basic, $10,000 to $13,000 for Standard, and $12,000 to $16,000 for Premium. Prices vary by roof.

How long does a roof replacement take in Greensboro?

A simple roof is usually done in one day. Complex roofs take longer, and weather can delay the start.

Can you help if my roof has storm or hail damage?

We document the damage with photos and explain the insurance process. You work with your own insurance company on your claim.

Do you do emergency roof repairs?

Yes, 24/7. Our trucks carry tarps to cover leaks right away.

Should I repair or replace my roof?

We repair when a repair is truly needed and possible. We don’t recommend repairing a roof that was installed wrong, because it will keep leaking.

Why don’t you install 3-tab shingles?

They’re builder-grade, entry-level shingles that aren’t built for high winds, so we don’t install them at all anymore.

What warranty do you offer?

Workmanship warranties up to 25 years: 5 standard, 10 with GAF Silver Pledge, and 25 with GAF Golden Pledge.

Do you install metal roofs in Greensboro?

Yes, including standing seam metal.

Do you install gutters in Greensboro?

Yes. We make custom gutters in-house and install them, and they can go up along with a new roof.

Do you charge for inspections?

Inspections and estimates are free. There’s a charge only if you want a written inspection report and don’t hire us, and it’s credited toward your repair or replacement if you hire us later.
